Advice Plz

I need some advice on which quad to get. Here are my options....

Used 2007 Outaw 525 (est 20 hours, great shape!) $5200
New 2007 Outlaw 500 OTD $5600
New 2008 Suzuki Z400 OTD $4600
Used 2007/8 400EX (est 3 to 5 hours on it) $4000

I do not plan on racing at tracks. I want the quad for trail riding with my friends. My friend that is gettin gme back into riding owns the 2008 Outlaw 525. He swears by the IRS for the trail riding and everyone else told me to stay away from the Polaris engine but the KTM is a great engine. That is the only thing scaring me away from the Outlaw 500 (which rode better than the 525 in opinion). Now the used 525 that I am looking at is in great shape and well taken care of. I also do not want to be eating dust if you know what I mean. So which one should I go with? Thanks!

I've been there & raced the 400's. You'll find yourself lacking power riding with your KTM powered pal. The KTM outlaws are even lighter than the old 500's to boot. Myself I wouldn't be afraid of the 500 except there is something better out there - the KTM 525.

I have riden 400z, 400ex, the 525 and others. Nothing is close to my 525 and i love it. You can ride fast and the quad is so good at what it does that you look like you know what your doing. I am not saying pin it and go because you will kill yourself. All i am saying is that the 525 IRS will give you the biggest smile.

What is funny is the people that said to stay away from the Polaris 500 engine probably said the Z400 was a great engine, when in fact they are basically the same engine. They are both made by Fuji.

This shouldn't be a tough choice. There are many more aftermaket pats for the 525 engine. The 500 is old news and fading fast.

The Suzuki 400 and the fuji 500 are next to nothing alike. Try again evasiveone.

You are correct. Everyone that told me to stay away from the 500 said to either get the 525 because of the KTM engine or get the Z400. I think I have made up my mind and I am going with the used Outlaw 525. If that deal does not work out then what should I go with? The dealer rep that I was talking to will cut me a great deal on a NEW 07 Outlaw 500 ($5600 Out the door) with dealer price on all gear. So if my deal with the 525 goes out the door will I be safe going with the 500 or do I need to look into something else?

If your 525 doesn't work out you should get the z400. However your still over paying at $4600. Now that everyone is waiting to get a fuel injected 09 model the dealers will practically give it too you if you try. I have seen them for $3000.00 recently. It is a great quad as well. You will like it.

in nov 07 I got a 525le for 6k out the door so 5600 for a 500 is not that great a deal.
