sorry if there is already a thread for this, but will the stock chain fit a 14/40 set up?, if not what can I use?

Being that stock is 13:38.
No the stock chain will be too small. Your adding approx 1/2 link up front and 1 link in the rear.

Why bigger on both gears?
Your reducing ground clearance with very little change (2%).

You'd get the same effect from only dropping the rear to a 37 tooth. 13:37 and then the stock chain length should work.

13x38, 14x38, and 14x37 are all sets I have run with the stock length chain with no problem.

I didn't really count the teeth on the sprokets yet, it is probably a 14/38. I bought it with this set up and I like it, it works great around here. So the stock chain has enough slack with the 14/38?

Should. You're only adding a 1/2 link at the front sprocket.
