View Full Version : anyone here ride near Los Angeles?

Has anyone been to San Gabriel USFS, Mt Baly Ranger District or Tujunga ranger District? Hope someone can give me some info on these places. The only place I been to is Hungry Valley but its a bit of distance for me and would like to try some place closer.

Hello I never heard of these places. I either go to gorman, pismo, or glamis. sorry I could not help but I would like to know if you could ride at these places.

Gorman is ok. Good desert riding is out the 14 through Palmdale and Lancaster to the town of Mojave, take 395 about 30 miles to Red Rock Canyon. About 130 miles from LA.

Dove Springs is the poop. Go there. It's good.

You could also try practice days at Glen Helen, Castaic, Lemon Groove, Borona Oaks, ect.

A few other good places are Johnson Valley, Stoddard Valley, El Mirage, and there is a place out in Adelanto as well off the 395. All desert riding with various trail and hills from smooth to rocky.

One of my favorite places down toward San Diego is called Ocotillo Wells. It has it all there. Sand, hills, smooth, rough, rocky, you name it.
