I have an Ideah of what port and polishing is but what exactly do they do? I know it can give you a good 10 hp from what iv'e heard.

They will basically open up your intake and exhaust ports then polish them to a shiny, smooth finish for better air flow! You can get the head "cleaned up"(minor port\polish) for pretty cheap, but for a GOOD port job from an engine builder with a flow bench you can expect to pay up to $500!! I have a good friend here that owns a machine shop that does all the boring and porting\polishing for all our guys cheaper than you will find anywhere and compared to some of the porting\polishing jobs ive seen, he does an awesome job!!!
