The cheapest exhaust is going to be a slip on, but to get the most out of the 440 you would be better off with a full system. IMO, a curtis sparks x-6 is the best, but they arnt cheap. What kind of racing are you wanting to do. I know you said you mostly trail ride, but didnt know if thats the type of racing you are doing.

As far as axles go, Lonestar racing is probably your best option. Wider is not necessarily better for trail riding though. I would probably recommend a stock width axle for strictly trails. It's a good option for MX, but it'd be tough for the tight trails.
I second the opinion on Spark pipes as well.

Sometimes you can find a used one on ebay for a decent price.

dont buy a cylinder and kit off ebay. alot of the complaints for getting the new cylinder is the jug doesnt fit in the block its self. alot of poeple including my self had to hone out the actual block itself to accept the new jug. i did it for a buddy of mine andd it was a pain. its about hte same price to do a new sleeve and bore at your local machineshop anyhow.

That type of sleeve is actually better becuase you can keep the sleeve thickness which helps keep it cool. It is more work, but its also more reliable.

so what your saying is that i should buy a 440 kit from wiseco, je or cp with a new sleeve and then get it bored...will gt thunder do it if i send it done to get hd studs or would i need to send it else where...

Thats up to you. If you go with a 416 you have the option to bore again later and you can make one just as fast as a 440. As for pistons, JE CP and wiseco are all good. I just prefer JE and CP.
