I've tried to search but the search engine does not like anything I put in. I also looked in the how-to's and have not found a way to REMOVE a tire your self. Whats the best way to do this at home?

Take a 2x4 and lay across the tire close to the edge of the rim. Have someone drive a vehicle on the 2x4. The bead will break right off. Just be sure you don't let the 2x4 touch the rim.

After the bead is broke on both sides, you can pry it off with a couple big screwdrivers.

large screwdrivers can/will dent rims or damgae the beads of tires. I would invest in tire irons, it takes 3 to put/remove tires from rims. Another thing you will never know what you did without it, is a bead breaker, you can get them for $70. $120 in tools and you will never pay a person again to put on/remove tires. I don't like the 2x4 and truck method, its too easy to damage rims. I have 2 dirtbikes, so tire irons were kinda a nessasity. You can do it with large screwdrivers, too much room for error with them.

That's freakin clever right there. I would never have thought of that. I will use that in the future. I got lucky, my buddy has access to all the tools that a tire shop uses. Ijsut had to call around .Thanks for all the help guys.

My Dad's got one up on me. He used the truck and block of wood, but used a 6ft length of 2x4 under the truck to leverage the block and break the bead. I never got it to work, kept falling off the block.

I just bought a mini tire changer from Harbor Freight for $37.

I was not impressed with how it breaks the bead from the rim. It still was very difficult. After one tire I just went back to driving over them to break the bead.

On the bright side though.....This this worked great to take the tire off the rim......and with a little dish soap on my new tire this changer slips the new tires right on. The only other tools I used were a 18" pry bar and a valve core tool.
