View Full Version : Main Jet without butt plug and lid

My buddy just got an 08 YFZ and is going to take the lid off, butt plug out, and rejet. Any Idea what the main needs to be? What is it stock by the way? Any gains from doing this? It sounds like crap right now and is bugging him. I'm a Honda guy and havent worked on a YFZ yet so help me out fellas. thanks!!!!!

170 main jet... yes, there is quite a bit of benefit from it

Is that the stock jet or what I need to put in it?

Thats the jet you will need to put in it. I think the stock main is a 163/165 main. Another mod that helps and its free to do if you now how to do it is the Cam Mod.

Yeah I have heard of it a lot, where are some good instructions on this? Its basically just advancing or retarding one of the cams a tooth. Any good links on how to do this?

Ya you retard the Cam. If you go to youtube and type in Cam mod on YFZ and its a video on how to do it. I bet there a thread on here that tell you step by step how to do it.
