I cut the center out of the gear and then ground it down to the size of a washer.

We use a kick starter clam washer ( the one at the very end of the shaft that engages the kick starter) turned backwards.

we have the small collar and variator sleeve made to our own length so we just throw the old stuff in the spares for what ever and fit the new collar and variator sleeve job done no cutting grinding or fuss 2 min job:)

would you be able to give me an idea on how and what to remove to get rid of the electric start and use just the kick start

its pretty simple;
BAttery, starter you will need to make a plate to cover the hole over the starter or you can buy one.

You will have to take the front clutch out. Once you get in there you will see the starter gear and everything else you will not need anymore.
