View Full Version : weird yfz problem

Heres the problem- the quad was running good but it was cut out while giving it throttle to do a wheelie or accelerate. I then rode it today and it died like it ran out of gas. i put in a new plug that didnt help anything. i tried bump starting it and it ran only when the throttle was wide open and it just spat and sputtered. It also started smoking. any ideas?

what year is it? is there anything else you can tell us? has it sat for a while? what else have you checked other than the plug?

its an 04 and from what i know it has mostly been sitting for the last few monthes, i just bought it and when i did i started right up and idled perfectly

What else have you checked? Done any trouble shooting at all?

I assume if you know it was sitting that long you replaced the gas/oil cleaned the carb and what not?

Compression test?

Could be your TORS switch? But the smoking... :confused:
