32 parts of gas to one part of oil. It all works out if if call a gallon 128oz. 32:1 is 4 oz per gallon

Asking would have been smart, but what most people run is anywhere between 32:1 and 40:1. Use quality oil, and you shouldn't have a problem.
Most have how much to add to a gallon or five gallons no the back of the bottle.

Wrong direction. It actually means 32 gallons of gas for every 1 gallon of oil.
Gallons are easy to visualize. If you are using 1 gallon of oil, you need 32 gallons of gasoline for a 32:1 ratio. (gas to oil). You can also obviously see that a 50:1 ratio (50 gallons of gas, 1 gallon of oil) has less oil than a 32:1 ratio (32 gallons of gas, 1 gallon of oil).
Deathman mentioned "parts", which can be ANY unit of measurement. 32 pints of gasoline to 1 pint of oil, or 32 cups of gas to 1 cup of oil. Most of us figure in ounces, so 32 ounces of gas to 1 ounce of oil.
One gallon has 128 ounces. And you never thought you'd actually use that information you learned in high school algebra class ;)
