Make sure the connector from the transmission is attached to the lever on the valve turner. You can see the schemaitic at www.bikebandit.com under OEM parts. If its not attached it still will feel like its working right but thats all that the powerband is. The centrifigal force of the gears rpms somehow pulls the lever down to open the valve which basically opens the whole engine to pump the juice through. I think it works on some wierd centrifigal clutch like thing in the trans.

how does the plug look? is the air filter clean? If it is a 86 then it does NOT have a power valve. 87 was the first year for it. Is the carb clean? When did it start doing this?

it is an 87 motor, guy he got it from said 86, but its been doing this since he bought it, plug is new, tried a few of them, carb is clean and air filter is clean, the guy he got it from said something about putting a carb from a banshee on it so we are gonna try a new carb and we freshend up the top end

Ahaa sick how was that? Was it ok in the low rpm's? Did it feel like something was wrong with it? how was the lowend torque after? And sry for all the questions lol. but if you could answer it that would be great! Thanks!!

i didnt notice that big of a loss in low end torque when i did this. i could still climb hills easily and trail ride it. it pulled like a mother on top end too.
