Plz Help Me Please Im New In The Racing World!!!

i am trying to drag my honda 400ex and i was wondering which parts would be a necessity and which parts i could do without until i have a little extra money any information is greatly appreciated :D

If you just want to drag race I would say you could just work the motor, maybe rear suspension to get it hooked up.

I love my EX but keep in mind its not known for being the ideal drag quad.

what is a good form of racing for a 400ex im not good with jumping :ermm:

I would say the 400ex shines in cross country style racing or Hare Scrambles. The EX bennefits from good handleing but is definately not the quad for all out power battles. The newer water cooled quads can be built to put out alot more HP.

Do a search on this site. There is some nice XC style quads on here.

Questions are fine. Is your quad all stock?

In my opinion suspension is more valuable than power. You can have all the HP in the world but if the quad doesn't hanlde well it will not do you much good.

I would say if your new to a quad then seat time is the first thing to do before buying stuff. Ride it and see how it feels in the corners and bumps. It might be all the bike you need in stock form for a little while.

After that some aftermarket suspension or 450r shocks( there is tons of articles on this)

Nerf bars are nice for safety.

Skid plates depending on how rough it is where you ride.

And last but not least read all the posts on this forum!!! Just kidding- but there is tons of information here.

i say getcha some 450r shocks and have em rebuilt and stuff. some skids nerfs maybe a pipe so u can hear it and some flexx bars.haha

and some tires to i like itp holshots the best and get a pipe you dont even need to get a ful system just get a slip on

well i have a white brothers e-series pipe on it, with a k & n air filter. im looking to spend about two to three thousand. but i used to drag snow mobiles and i wish there was a way i could drag this
