YFZ450 Plastics?

I am needing new plastics badly, and was wondering if you could fab. YFZ450 plastics onto a 400EX? What about a 300EX?

There is a guy on ebay that sell the conversion kit to put new 450 plastic on the 400. The guy is pretty expensive but maybe you could check it out.

yamaha are not junk. And the YFZ450 looks 10x better than the 400ex im my opinion...

Theres plenty plastics that make a 400EX look awesome. I mean a nice hood and race cuts on stockers look great. Or you can buy laker customs or something.

my friend has yfz plastic on his 400ex.

its really not worth it IMO.

get some laker customs or fullbores:p

Also, did everything just kinda fit, or did the plastics need cutting? lol, I know i know, im a trader, but yamaha is my first favorite and honda is my second. I love the look of yammi's

Hell, if I knew raptor 700 plastics would fit, I wouldn't even think twice or look back. Mine would be the raptor 400r before you know it, haha.

I think the 700 is the hottest looking quad on the market to date, except maybe the red or monster energy kfx450.

I can't stand his YFZ to be honest. Not pretty at all to me. The YFZ Jeremiah Jones rode in Huevos 7 was awesome. I like Hondas though =p.

I agree on the 250r one. A nice hood on them and wow! And I have seen bill ballances YFZ. Its a YFZ I dont care for it, I mean its nice but I dont think wow that is amazing. and the thing I like about the older 400ex is that its istict with the lights and you always know its a 400ex. Infact the only Honda model that had a great chnage in plastics for the better was the 300ex. the older box headlight IMo looked terrible but the newer style is much better. The newer 250ex i dont like, the newer 400ex i dont care for, the newer 450r its a toss up between the 2. and yamaha pretty much suck lol and yes I actually own a yamaha and it sucks lol and my cousin owns a banshee and a blaster both complete suck fest if you ask me I would rather be on a newer 300ex than that thing.

the Bill Ballance YFZ is just plain ugly. a XC ready Honda 450r is just sick looking IMO.

I love YFZ's, but I personally think Bill's isn't the best looking one around.

My second favorite looking quad is Joe Byrds 450r. For some reason I find it so attractive, lol.

Yamaha has always been good to me. Every one ive owned has never even farted once. Always been reliable. Even my dads banshee. We ran it way past the wear limit and it never showed signs of dying on us, just no mid-range, lol.

It's all about maintaince. Even the "high maintaince" blaster, I had it for 2.5-3 years, and never gave me an ounce of trouble. Actually, it was one of my favorite bikes. It's a great leaner, and if it werent for that I wouldnt' be the rider I am today.

Also, the warrior is arguably the most reliable quad ever built, tied with the 300ex, and even honda guys are willing to admit that.

I love yamaha and honda. I can't stand suzuki. I can't stand polaris (except for the 525S) And I think kawasaki is alright.

Every suzuki ive encountered, was so damn cheap. Like everything falls off of them, and even saw there pegs bend in like nothing. Just crappy quality IMO

i can counter some of those hondamaster.

suzuki and kawasaki had a tie for alot of years, and most models were made by one another. so there the same thing basically, and still even seperated the same quality. a good overall machine (anything they make)

yamaha is good im not gonna lie, depending on the model you can argue for the most reliable or most high performance.

honda IMO all their models are rock solid reliable. not always the most high performance but it can be ANYTHING ranging from quads to lawnmower engines. there built to last.

im not a fan of polaris either, but it seems their new 450 is pretty solid so maybe they're making a turn for the better.

and basically any machine you have if you do the regular maint, or above (cant hurt). then you will have a long lasting ride, unless of course you get that one with the freak problem:huh

I know that suzuki and kawasaki share ties with a lot. But I like the tecate more than the lt250r. The lt250 is just... crappy IMO. The quadzilla is cool, but you would never know if it would start and it would break your leg if it backfired, lol.

The one thing I hate about honda.. the hardware. Every damn bolt on my 400ex like the pegs, uses allens. I HATE allens. Plus, everythings all stuffed up in the middle, so you have do take everything apart to get to a lot of stuff, haha.

As far as polaris, it seems like they're finally getting there chit together, but I would like to hear more reports on them before I say I like them. I thought the 525 has awesome ergo's and felt comfortable. Never rode one though. But as far as there other stuff, I thought the pred was a piece of crap. Trailboss/trailblazer are flat-out chit. and the scrambler 500 had no balls and didn't feel sporty at all.

How hard would it be to fit 08 plastic onto an 03? What would also look cool on an 08EX is YFZ head lights. Wouldn't it?

I personally like the 05-07. they got rid of the bubbly front fenders, and the look just sorta grew on me.

but anyways, I would like to convert to the 08 also. Wish I had the money. Ever since 08400EX's, I always though the new style looked hot.

its not going to b to cheap. you gotta get the front fender bracket to hold the tank cover/front wings and hood, And you will need to weld 2 tabs on the sub frame to hold the rear fenders,and i used the old tank but it don't line up just right. So u will need to get the new tank, and also the new seat, the new seat latch will bolt in the old location. i only use my bike to drag race so i did'nt need evrything you might need to set yours up. if u have any ?'s let me know. i could send you some more detailed pics.

if u r going to trail ride it, i would get the new tank. ok this is how i set mine up. i bought the stock 08 front fender bracket,as u can see under the hood. so that i had somthing to attach the front fenders and hood to. it bolts right on above the front shocks, in place of your old L brackets. I did have to weld 2 tabs on the sub frame.so i could bolt on the rear fenders. (This should be done after u get the rear fenders, so u can figure out just where to weld the tabs on) As far as the seat goes, you will have to buy the seat latch for the 08. But it bolts right in the spot of the old 1. you should not have to re-locate your battery. i just wanted to clean up the left side a little. I'm running a 1999 frame. As far as price goes,, Well i work at a honda shop so i got my stuff at cost. here are some prices. I hope this helps.

Your quad is beautiful! Do you have any pictures of the welds on the sub frame? Could you use the stock air box? or do you need a new air box?

It has always been running but it is smoking pretty bad now. So I am doing a FULL rebuild. I am going to work from the engine out, taking my time. It will defently be worth it! I hope it will win QOTM (doubt it)

that might go for quads but not dirtbikes the crf 250r and crf450r are both good bikes but are alot higher maitenence then the yz250f and yz450f but 4 quads alot of people have told me the yfz is has a problematic motor
