Well the other day my buddy and i went riding. His Z400 sucked up some water(we think), wouldnt run for crap, it will only run for about 30 seconds then it would die. It would not rev past 2 or 3 grand, so we towed it backt o the truck and called it a day, he thought taht maybe it got some stuff in the gas so he took the tank off and drained it put fresh gas in and now it wont do anything. It wont run at all. HE then went truough the carb and it looked all good. Still wont start. Now it driving us crazy. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Have him pull the spark plug and crank it over several times......if water comes out of the hole, he may have probs. Also check the stator.

He already did that and nothing happened. Is there a good write up on checking the timing on that bike anywhere?

Frozen rings dont make enough compression for it to run.
