new to old

hey i have a 2005 400ex. i was wondering if i could put the older style plastics on it. Do i just have to change the brackets?

I know my friends took 2005 plastics and put it on the older style. I dont remember anything about switching brackets. If you take a picture of your brackets I could compare to mine which is the older style and see the differences if any.
