You don't have to register to ride in MD.

The VIN isn't a sticker...it didn't come off. It could be a replacement frame though.

it could be a aftermarket frame.

if you could ever find out the old vin, or maybe legally acuire a new one, you go on ebay and get # & alphabet punch and stamp your own

a factory frame w/o a vin number is almost always stolen. Yes, there are cases with replacement frames, but if its a replacement frame, it should have paperwork for the new frame and the vin number cut out of the old frame and given to you. Replacement frames come with a sticker for the vin number. The guy not returning your calls, sounds very fishy. Post some pictures of this frame, maybe it is an aftermarket frame, 250r, 400ex, yfz450 and trx450r all offered by a few companies.

Try to call him tomorrow. If no answer, you should have all his infomation on the bill of sale. Go to the cops and explain what happened and they will find him. You might be taking a chance though because you may not get your money back. But its the right thing to do.:macho

Thats only if its a stock frame. What kind of quad is it? Post pictures and we can tell ya if its a aftermarket frame.
