the garage rebuild is under way. Still no insurance money, but we will get it done one way or another.

This will be a pole barn type building with metal siding. The old building was a pre-engineered metal building. We went from 941 SF to 1440 SF. Pictures attached.

so what ended up happening with the isurance company as far as the contents?

hardkoratvmxr
07-15-2008, 08:57 PM
that is a really slick barn. did you add insulation to the inside or is the inside not completed yet? let us know what the insurance said about replacing the contents

4punksdad
07-16-2008, 04:58 AM
The insurance company has been pretty cool. They have paid for the structure but nothing on the contents as of yet. They want to take a closer look at my tools to determine their value. Hopefully that will happen this week so we can get a settlement check & move on.

$14,500, I can't imagine spending that much on a toolbox and then still have to spend big money on quality tools. I'm still stuck on my craftsman stuff and $100 used toolbox from a friend.

Daaaayumm !!! Now there's a nice box if I've ever seen one. :blah:

That thing has bigger wheels on it than my car and probably has more horsepower too.

Now for $22 000 , I have to ask ... does it come with any tools? Lifetime discount on SnapOn tools? Exclusive membership to a secret club? Case of beer or free hair cuts?

I used to drive a 1978 Ford Fiesta and had to carry the same tools in the back just to get where I was going. Everyone has to start somewhere.

Jesus Christ ... if you didn't have bad luck it seems like you'd have no luck at all.

Here's a trick to all of it ... find a GOOD friend and sell all your stuff to him for dirt cheap ... that way there she's only getting half of "Dirt Cheap". When it's all said and done with ... buy the things back from your GOOD friend.

Note I emphasize on GOOD friend .... make sure it's not someone that's gunna turn around and stick you after you just unloaded your Challenger to him for peanuts and lint. Make sure it's someoen that'll sell it back to you for the price you sold to them. This is what my uncle did when he ex-wife was trying to take everything he had .

He said to her ... if you want half of everything , you're gunna get half of as little as possible.

4punksdad
10-10-2008, 04:20 AM
Thanks for all of the tips, but I'd rather not get into details on the internet. It will all come out in the wash.................I am confident.

The part that pisses me off is this loser wife of mine claims she was unhappy because I never spent any time with the family!

How many thousands of photos have I uploaded to this site of my kids riding & having fun with me? Some people just go through life with blinders on, only capable of seeing their point of view. Its the "me, me, me" mentality that these selfish people have that drives me nuts.

You have to becareful doing that though because then the courts will award any proceeds from the sales to the wife, sometimes they go by book value on the stuff too :ermm:

The saying that always sticks with me is now matter how rough it gets, someone has got it rougher. Very sorry to hear about your wife. Best of luck with the courts and if she is going to get half of everything, make sure she gets half of the bills first.

My dad was going to do that. Divorce laws are so strict in connecticut though they will find all of that property and they will get it back so fast your head would spin.

Keep your head up 4 punks, At least for your sons. My parents were going through a divorce 2 years ago and mid way through my mom died, 2 weeks later my dad was seconds from death after a brutal heart attack driving to work, 8 hours later he had another in the ICU and was flat lined for like 4 minutes. And all i can say of the events is if my dad hadn't kept his head on straight and kept me feeling secure over himself, i would have certainly gone off the deep end.

When the situation starts beating you down again, drag your *** back here haha.
