2001 honda 300ex what would be the cause of the battery not charging while your riding

I had this problem with my 400ex. It seemed to lose a charge while riding if I had the headlight on. I never needed it to be on but I would accedently turn it on maybe and sure enough by the end of the day....dead batery. I ended up un plugging the connection to the headlight behind the plastic just to rid myself of the problem. That worked for me. If your headlight has not been on it may be something else pulling on the battery. Also how old is the battery that you have?

Yeah, mine had a similar problem, there might be dirt under the connector. Pull the connectors off the battery terminals and steel wool them till they're shiny.
