Hello all
I just got a 2008 Proshark MX and it won't run right it jeeps cutting in and out at wide open. It sounds like it runs out of fuel kind of goes zing bog zing bog zing. I thouhgt it was a fuel delivery problem but it is not just wont run right it acts like it runs out of fuel then when it starts doing it if you let off the throttle it idles fine if you stay on the gas it bogs then revs then bogs then revs ect....... I have changed everything from a known good machine except the intake and reeds still same thing need help my kids come home in 3 days and this is suppose to be a suprise but won't be a very good one if it don't run good enough for them to ride it. thanks

Hi,
On all of these bikes the float keeps sticiking so once you have adjusted it.etc it should work.

Pongo is probably right, it may be the float either stuck or needs to be adjusted. You might also check your vent hose. If your sticking it in the hole in the steering stem it may not be venting.

the float on this one is plastic there is no adjustment could you explain a little better when off the bike it moves up and down freely also here is some really weird info too I put the carb from my Polaris Scrambler 90 on it and it does the same thing but get this if I put the carb from Apex on the Polaris the Polaris does the same thing, put the Polaris carb back on the Polaris and the Polaris runs fine. Could it be flooding it out but if it is why does it rev-bog-rev it is set up with a pipe and air filter I have it jetted at 42-95

Pull your fuel line off at the carb and make sure you have good flow. Make sure your fuel filter isn't clogged. It could be a combination of things. Check your PMs.

Well I am very happy to say that Greg at Apex has been very very helpful with me this afternoon he has spent a good part of the day working with me to get this thing running right and we have made good headway.:D They are working to help me get it tuned right. Turns out it is mostly jetting causing all these problems and Apex is working diligently with me to get it set up right thanks guys for all the help Apex

I will be a returning customer

I can solve your problem for $125.00 call Hetrick and have them send you a 28mm carb. We run 2 /Apexs both had the same problem, and Greg did try working with me to adjust the float. I gave up put the bigger carb on and boom works great, you don't even have to change the jets. 814-676-0477 ask for Chris

I agree, I have a MXR90 and I thought I had it running as good as it could get. I just put on the 28mm carb and it is even better than I could have expected, it starts better, idles better and has more punch to it. I got my carb from Scott at west coast quads and it does have the port for the oil line.
