What would it take?

What would it take to make a 400ex hang with a raptor? This guy I know wants to sell me his 400 and says it keeps up with a raptor,but I don't think it is modded too heavily. So what mods could he possibly have besides a Procircuit pipe, K&N, and jet kit?

Keep up how? Keep up on the low end or keep up in top speed? A high-comp piston with a filter and exhaust should be all you need on the low-mid end of it. You'll need a gearing change to keep up on the top end. You can have all the HP in the world but if you don't change the EX's gearing (either by a sprocket change or going to a larger rear tire) you'll never out-run them on the top end. I can tell you for a fact by races against several 400EX's that an exhaust and filter will not give you enough to out-run a Raptor anywhere (in a straight line).

Top end I am guessing because he said it will keep up with a raptor, and he doesn't trail ride hardly. I am getting back in town today and I will go look at it and give you some more info.
