I will have to see if I can dig up some sheets. The 05 and older ones would be in the high 30's and lucky to break 40 . The 06 and newer were in the low 40's. Yamaha 450's were almost the same. With just a pipe both could be in the mid 40's easlily and most of our yamahas were getting 48 after tuning. Whatever they decided to do in 06 both companies really got it together with the factory porting.

but most people say that the 04-05s have the most power ? .. i think honda made the new bikes smoother so u can hold on with out all the effort and that also makes them feel slower

right now with my yfz with just tweeked and tuned .. no cams piston exhaust etc the only true mod engine wise is a filter flange and no toil filter ( the best filter you can run ).... with 439cc i am getting a little over 45hp... how? don't know if i'll ever tell.. lol ... lets just say we've tuned the carb and modified some stock items but not a lot..

Indeed. Mustangs use eddy current, they show the "true rear wheel HP". Stock 05 TRXs go around 30 with dyno tires on an eddy current dyno. Stock 06 up will pull around 32-34, depending on how it has been treated.

For those of you who throw stock quads on the dyno, for instance a 06-up TRX450R onto a dynojet and it shoots out 42-43 RWHP (happens a lot)....does that not raise questions??? I mean flywheel rated HP is stamped right on the frame at 42 HP, do you not think that the drivetrain (IE trans, tires, axle, chain) rob HP???

i the HP stamped on the 05? I just bought a 05 and man the stock exhaust and airbox snorkel are both about 1/3 of that that was on a 400ex! No wonder why this thing uses such a small main jet. It baffles me its so corked up yet it will easily walk my 400ex with mods and still produces 36-37HP. Guess thats what the extra 53cc will do. Both motors with a full exhaust and open airbox jetted correctly whats the HP difference?

The 2004 TRX450R has 33 RWHP.
Thats completely stock (but jetted for proper elevation, ect.)

The YFZ of the same year had 1 or 2 more RWHP.

i have seen other sheets of 450rs running 37-38 on a dj dyno. actually the same dyno i ran 34 on. lol. 06+ 38.6hp 04-05 38.0hp on the same dyno. running an exhaust and no lid will gain around 9 hp on the 04-05 and 10 on the 06+ if this is a load or not is different though. the sheets can be found

but i think they are heavily modded engines not just an exhaust and no lid. that is my opinion though. the stock stuff is correct enough for comparison purposes though. this is the same dyno that i ran 34 hp on with my 416. i dont think that is bad compared to a stock 450 at only 4 hp less. steve

a stock yfz on the same dyno ran 38.2 hp. craptor 700 runs 42.4hp, ltr ran 37.8 hp, yfz r ran 39.8hp, ds ran 40.4hp. these all seem to be pretty close and you can see all of the runs just clicking on the links off the rossier site. steve
