New bike Thursday!

i am getting my first bike tomorrow! It's a CRF 450, with a full Pro- Circuit titanium pipe, Pro- Action suspension, and new handgaurds, with good tires and new brakes. starts first kick, and pretty fast. all for 3100, is this a good deal? ill post pics when i get it

sorry idk have pics yet, but come tomorrow i will, its a 05, the plastic is a good condition with only a few lights scratches, no dings on the bike really. it has never been raced that the kid know of...

nickg5755- haha nope, first bike ever, i have two trx 450s tho. and i have rode many bikes before including this one

elementryder- you can always buy a used 250f and put black plastics on it, especially when a plastic set costs less than 150.

krt400ex- im glad im getting a 05 now that i know about the handling probs. thanks for they good luck wish

get bark busters for it.. your gunna break a lever every week for the first month or so if you dont lol..

I raced a RM 250 for a long time.. it was a mean bike, Full FMF , Vforce reeds, XC port & polish. I miss that bike :(

my budddy got a YZ450F and holy S*IT do those things haul.

i dont liek 4 stroke bikes. cant really pinpoint a reason but i jsut know im way faster on a 2 stroke in the woods. but man those 450 have gobs of tourqe

Id put bark busters on it & Radiator braces & rad guards. ya know just 2 things i think help ensure your riding home and not pushing it.

thanks. i had alot up ups and downs with that bike.

Bought it used. The carb someone put on it was an old school PJ carb. And boy was it a *itch to gert tuned right. I dont think i ever got the float set up right on it haha.. i was in the middle of a race when i lost a shift fork. i think it was 2nd gear. missed the last 2 raaces of the season because of it. but i still loved that bike, i stilll havent ridden anything like it. kinda makes me wanna get a Newer RM :rolleyes:

yea BMX experience will help, but youll see. having a top heavy 450 is a force to be recond with. that pig is gunna throw you around alllll dayyy haha... ill never leave my 2 strokes.. im currently trying to convince a dealer to put the new black plastic with the tribal flame graphics onto a CR250 for me... plus the new hondas come with a steering dampener!!!!

tell me that isnt the sweetest looking XR 400 youve ever seen.
Alop plastic kits make a Tank/plastic kit to lower the center of gravity and narrow the bike big time and make the bike way easier to trail ride.

Bomb proof 400 motor. In a package that feels more like a 250F, mann i love honda

i agree with the radiator braces. they all have weak stock radiators, but the hondas especially have a reputation for twisted radiators from even small crashes.

pro-rider46 - yes, the bikes before the '05 had poor frame geometry, and the front tire had the tendency to wash out on them. not fun when your bombing a corner and the front tire lets loose

my cousin has a xr 400, its a pretty nice bike. really comfy, but really heavy in stock form.

quads14589- im not going to lie, this bike is kinda on the house for me. my dad is selling the spare 450r and getting me this bike. but i have been working hard around the house and helping my brother work alot too.

krt400ex- yeah my 450r radiator has a nice dent in the side of it from when i tipped it on its side, but it holds so i kept it, but now it has a hole in it from when my bottom end blew apart, so i may be getting rad braces soon just because radiators are so freaking expensive for bikes and quads.

yea it was money my dad left me... and it was over 30 g's.

i also had an annuity lef to me that to this day including the 30 some grand totals to be close to 100 g's.

nick- that sucks about the 30 g's man. but thats sweet you have like 100g. the 2 hours werent too bad, it was the stops we had to make before we got the bike. lol

yeah i have already had a good bit of fun with it.
it has always been a 450r, but the pipe manufacturer (pro circuit) may have it designed that way to make it longer.

nice bike looks like a good deal. im gettin one as soon as i sell my 400. probably a 250f but maybe a 450 not sure yet. anyone know whats the average time for a rider to switch between a 250 and 450 four stroke. im a beginner on a bike but not on an mx track. if i can keep a 250 and be happy with it for 2 years i think im gonna do that. just dont want to buy, sell, buy, sell....

jsut get the 450.

after you get used to the 250 youll be on the rev limiter all the time trying to go.

on the 450 you wont be on the revlimter nearly as much thus making your motor last longer..

plus the power is there when you need it.

yeah 250fs are in a pretty close price range so you might as well get 450
