Do places like Discount Tire normally change ATV tires too? I need new tires all around but I have no idea where to go or if I should just pickup a tire changer from Harbor Freight for like $40. Any recommendations?

They or any local tire shop should be able to do them for you for pretty cheap.

dont buy the harbor freight one, i bought one and it didnt work for crap, buy one that looks like this http://www.pitposse.com/atvbeadbreaker.html
that price seems high, i know nacs used to sell them and i think james lucky makes them. i got mine for like 30 bucks i think, works really good, just get some tire irons too.

1st i've ever heard of that... a lot of cars have aluminum rims these days. I've taken my tires to several different tire shops and they've never had a problem with them.

I've been using my James Lucky one since 2001. It was about $70 at the time and well worth it. I used it in the parking lot numerous times on my quad or helping somebody else out. You can't just find somebody to change a tire when you need it.

BTW, aftermarket tires are much easier to get off the rim than the stock Honda tires for example.

Habor Freight sells a few different tire changers.

This one is absolute junk. First off, most ATV tires don't fit. If you are luck enough to have a set that fits, or if you can make some modifications to make it fit, it's still junk. I was able to change a couple tires, but it was an absolute nightmare. Stay away from this one.

They also sell another one like this, and although I've never tried it, I think it might work better. I'm really considering buying this one. It's also got a few other attachements for specialty, like a wide rim holding attachement for motorcycle tires.
