Quick Question

I just went and bought xbox 360 live and a ethernet cable for it. I went to connect it and everything but it said that the connection failed. When i tested the connection, the one that failed was the MTU. I dont know what this means and have no idea how to fix it. If you guys could help me quick that'd be great. Thanks

Figured out that i had to buy a router because of my connection with my TV and Internet. Now the only thing i have left to do is actually setting up the xbox live. The thing i dont get is why it asks for the last 4 digits of your credit card number and your full name and all that. It says that i entered all of this in when i first bought the xbox and i can see what i put in for my information but i cant find it anywhere. anybody know what im talking about?
