You have to admint that, your friend is riding a stock suspension yfz. I would be kinda of cautious on that POS suspension. Thats like riding a 400ex on a mx track...Not going to work.

I've ridden his YFZ quite a few times and have no complaints about his stock suspension. It's bike overall is a lot lighter feeling than my EX, so it's pretty easy and fun to "huck". If I rode it full time, I could see myself going for some serious air and probably getting into some trouble :) As it is, I never really ride it for long enough to become 1 with the bike. The riding position is very different from my EX. I think the biggest difference is the width. My bike is so much wider than his and with the elka's, it's amazing how sloppy I can land and the suspension soaks it up. I have another EX as well with bone stock suspension (my woods machine). I took it to the dunes recently and it did indeed buck me upon landing resulting in a graceful barrel role. I launched crooked though and paid the price. Wouldn't have been a problem on my machine above though. I think the YFZ's stock suspension is a lot nicer than stock EX suspension. Anyway... I'm rambling.....

I was just agreeing, 400ex stock suspension + body roll is rediculous. Indeed the yfz is alot nicer than the 400ex stock suspension. But I just recently installed a laeger/elka setup on my old 400ex. Man it is a total different world when you quad is 50" stance. If you can relate, which I think you can. It's amazing. F horsepower put 2 grand into your quads front end people! Back to the dunes!

Looks like a great place to ride! Is the sand crunchy when it's that cold out?
