Well I have never adjusted my chain and I think its kinda loose. How do I adjust it to tighten it?? I have a Lonestar axle carrier btw.

And another question to add to this, how do I know how much to adjust it??

Unloosen the 4 allen bolts at the back of the carrier then simply put a large screwdriver in the slot or hole on the left side of the carrier and turn it downwards. The slack should be determined while sitting on the quad since the chain tightens up when sitting on it. After the carrier is positioned properly tighten the 4 bolts back up.

To make things simple. Yes, have the wheels on the ground while you adjust the chain. That way you can sit on it while you get it to the correct tension.

you need to have somebody put all their weight on the grab bar and when the center of the front sprocket, swingarm bolt, and axle are in a straight line you tighten it up to where it baerly has any play. the rason i say to make everything in a straight line is because thats the longest point of the chain's travel

I just did this last night on my 01 and when I pulled out the allen bolts, the threads came out with them. I'm thinking about just through bolting them with a washer and nut on the bottom. Anyone see anything wrong with that?

why dont you just buy new stock bolts...?

Well, it's the threads in the swingarm that stripped, not the threads on the bolts. It's like they siezed in there and the soft aluminum threads pulled out with the bolts. I was thinking the easyest thing to do would be to through bolt it.......

I use bolts and nuts on my swing arm, it works fine.

I fought with mine too. I ended up getting them by using vice grips........

just make sure your using an allen key thats on a socket, much easier than that one that comes in your tool kit. 3/8 drive by the way

Or just get a small pipe or something and put it on the end of the allen key to get more leverage. Just make sure you dont strip it allen keys are the worst once there stripped.
