Hey,
Anyone ever put a 450r silencer with HRC tip on there 400ex? Any problems with back pressure or anything?
thanks, Joe

the HRC tip will bolt on a stock 400ex muffler, so i would just do that.

but thats not the point... the stock muffler won't provide any gains.

The 450 muffler with the hrc, acts like an after market in a sense. And its stainless steel.

I say try it. I had the same idea but found the DMC before i did it. Would maybe take a little modding

you would have been better of having a stocker than that DMC

dude, the dmc makes more power than the HMF and sounds awesome. I wouldn't even trade it for a Curtis Sparks. lol. Not to mention the mid-top gain is crazy

in person if its packed and everything, they dont sound like hollow cans. Just a very raspy top with a low end bark.

okay....only reason you are defending it is because you have one. Show the proof on paper....go get some dynos!

You even ever has a curtis sparks or HMF? If so....why would you have been thinking about using a 450R silencer?....lol Whatever man

anyways....just save your money for something that is actually made for the bike....whats the point of doing things half assed?

actually there is dyno's on a pipe shootout somewhere. ill look it up. .3hp less than CSR. whos gonna notice that?

I thought about the 450r when mine was bone stock and i wanted a cheap exhaust. The HMF is nice, but everyone and their mother has one, and i personally dont think they're the best sounding pipe. I like the yfz one though.

lol, yeah, but i didnt start this mess. i said i was gonna do it till i found the dmc. then hondarider started by saying your better off stock then the dmc.

dmc isnt anything like cobra or dg. there decent but dont do enough advertising to get themselves out ther.e

Hmm, is it just me, or do you ride a 400ex with 450r shocks? I dont beleive 450r shocks are made for a 400ex? :ermm: But, 450r shocks are cheaper them A/M ones, and they get it done, just as a stock 450r silencer I can get for $20 might not be as good as an A/M pipe, but it will get the job done for a much cheaper price.

if it works why not. 450r silencer is better than the stock 400ex silencer. It looks way better and seems to sound a little different. I wouldnt go out of my way to buy one but if I decided to always keep the stock silencer dB level and never go aftermarket then I would just buy the 450r silencer because it looks better and much cleaner.

The idea is a really good idea, and i think if you want a pipe made by honda, which would increse HP, and stay in the desible power, do it. im looking for a Two Brothers V.A.L.E M7, which although is only a slip on, i still think it will increace power...... sorry for going off topic... hehe :D

yep a 450r pipe will go on a 400ex. you will have to weld on a new mount since the 450r mount will be farther back on the canister. my buddy has one on his 440 since his pipe burnt out and liked it so much he never repacked his other fmf pipe
