Our DRR 50 is here! Well, it's at the freight terminal waiting for me to pick it up. (44" front end, liquid cooled) LOL, I taking a half day and leaving at noon to get it. Took my son about 5 seconds to wake up this morning (usually takes us about 10-15 minutes to get him up and ready) and his first words out of his mouth were "My new 4-wheeler will be here today, right?.....Today's gonna be a big day for me".
:D
And his steering stem, stabilizer, nerfs, rollers, spring, oil, filters and jets already arrived over the weekend.
I'm not sure who's more excited....me or him. :eek2:

You have entered the Vortex my friend........ there is no turning back..... you are one of us now......just slowly remove your wallet from your pocket open it and lay it on the counter..... it no longer belongs to you........... it only hurts until you see that big smile inside the helmet when he get's back from that first ride. Then all the pain go's away and the real fun begins..... :D :D And then they start winning and you get the coolest feeling in your chest.......

:D lol, I know the vortex all too well, unfortunately.
Started assembly this afternoon. Dropping off the wheels, nerfs, bumper and some misc parts to get powder coated tomorrow. Still debating if I'm gonna PC the axle as well. Looks like if the splines are taped off, it shouldnt be a problem.
Yeah, he's already got all of his riding gear. This is actually his third quad since February. :eek2: Got him a Chinese knock-off to learn on, then a new 90EX (which I was PLANNING on transforming it to race.....I blame etondaddy for that one) :D and now the DRx.
Jread, he's got a long way to go before he's on Triston's level. Hell, I have a long way to go before I'm on Triston's level. When he does a no-footer, it's planned. :D

HAHAHAH!!!!!!!! Yeah, momma freaked out this weekend when he did a no footer lookback on the finish line jump this weekend. The sad thing is I didnt have the camera ready due to be so amped up about the race. Oh, and I would be leary about powdering the axle. Those little nuts are a booger if anything get in their way. Call me tomorrow and let me know what your son thought about it.

Didnt get quite as far on the 'build' as I planned last night, but got most of it done. Cant do much more until the parts get back from being pc'd. (Wednesday). Tonight, I'll take the snorkel off and hopefully get his custom decals put on. (if they show up in the mail today).
I may have to make some changes w/ the anti-vibe stem. (looks a little long)

looks good so far!!

I too would stay away from powder coating the axle. As he gets jumping more and more you will find the axle wont last that long anyways.

Thanks, Mike.
My son has a 90EX as well....and after seeing your build thread, I was wanting to beef up the suspension on ours...thus forcing my wallet further into the vortex.

haha you will have a black and blue quad
His two favorite colors. :D

Almost done. Get the wheels back today after being powder coated. They're done, just have to get the rubber back on the rims. PC'd the hubs, nerfs, bumper and wheels.

(ignore the mess....it was a late night last night.)
