Well the crank bearings just went on the ol' 450 and I was thinking about my options lately.. If the crank needs to be replaced should I just run the OEM or can I still get good reliability from a HotRods +3 stroker on the stock compression?

I don't know much about cranks in general, so if someone could let me know a bit more about this situation I'd really appreciate it!

What options do I all have if I want to go with a stroker?

How many CC's will my quad be at if I put in a +3 crank?

Please guys, I need some info!

A 3mm stroker crank will give you a 471cc motor. It's plenty reliable, as long as you stay stock bore. If you go bigger bore, you need to seriously conside another cyl. besides the stock one. It won't handle the side loads generated from a stroker crank if it's bored out and replated.

look at hot rods website... their crank for 06 up makes it a 470..... not a 471..... i tried one... had issues....... couldnt keep crank seals in my tranny side..... not worth it to me= put a stock crank back in mine and trashed the hot rods.

i have heard of many people using them reliably, i have also heard that the bearing go to crap often, but the bearings could be covered by hotrods warranty, so if they keep sending you bearings and you dont mind replacing them then who cares. or you could get the stroker crank, and then put oem bearings in it.

you would do good to get hot rods cranks to send you stickers... let alone stand behind their products pro rider 46.

So in other words it's either power or reliability here.. The Honda OEM is the most reliable, but how much more power will I be looking at with the stroker?

And the OEM bearings lasted probably around 300+ hours, the Hotrods sounds like it wont be near that?
