a guy has an 03 raptor with nerf bars, pro tapor bars, pro circuit t4, and i think its about it and it needs tires he wantes 2 trade 4 my 400ex and i dk if i want 2 cause i,ve heard trannys are bad. but what would u all think cause i know mines going 2 need a top end soon do u think i should do it ? let me know wut u all think

I think they resolved tranny problems by 03.

no they still had the same tranny and 1 way starter cluch problems in 03 i just dont see y someone would trade a bigger more powerful quad that is newer and has reverse and more value somethin might be wrong with that raptor

i dont know about that one, if you are even considering it, you need to go ride that raptor and run it through its paces and see what ya think

go over that thing with a fine tooth comb, and see what the story is

well in the pics its rough looking and the a arms have been spray painted on them so its not a pretty quad by any means and needs alot of tlc

I have a buddy with one and ther are kinda problamatic, he has had to change all kinds of stuff and it still runs a little rough. Im not going to lie though i still like it, its fast and looks awesome.

Well my buddies got an 03 and hasn't changed the oil since he got the raptor. Still runs strong buts smokes a bit from the rings. I'm not recommending doing this because its retarded but I am just showing they can be reliable. I guess its just how lucky you are.

400ex will smoke a raptor any day on trails. Lighter more bottom end. The raptor is a more "user friendly quad". 400 is a mod spree quad, if you like modding 400 is the best.

yea i,m keeping my 400 i,m not trading i plan on doin the motor in mine soon and maybe powdercoat the frame and stuff idk yet wut all i,m doin

Keep the 400 if you want to spend your spare time riding instead of working on your bike. You can't beat the 400 when it comes to reliablity and maintenence. I agree with the others. Why would someone downsize from a Raptor for a 400ex?? Also sounds fishy to me. If your a woods rider the 400 will run circles around the Raptor. The gearing, bike stance, suspension are so much better for the woods if the bike is set up correctly. If you decide to do the trade, get a good ride in and do a thorough inspection of the bike.
