Ok. Im wanting some new rubber for my 400ex. I kinda want a smaller tire, right now I have 20x11x9 ITP in the rear, and the stock size in the front. And they seem a little big and bulky. Im looking at the 18x10x9 Maxxis Razr tires for rear, and the 20x6x10 for the fron. I mostly do trail riding and not very much mud, just what little would be on the trail. What is you guys opinion on these tires and size for my riding conditions? Thanks!

i race mx but my riding group does a lot of trail rides and the mx razr's held there own. not so good in sand though. i currently have mxr4's and they are incredible for mx, trails, and anything else that has been thrown in there way. i would consider the itp mxr4's and whatever front you would want.

I run my razr mx tires (20" fronts, 18" rears) for all my riding except trails in the spring when its muddy out. I just throw on my 20" knarlys on the rear for that but I do leave on my razr mx fronts. It's a combo I like a lot if you can find another set of rear rims.

you think that size is a good size?? 20 in front and 18 on back?? generally keeping the 2" difference between front and back

When i used 18'' in the back i hated them on trails.I went back to 20's. Just my opinion.

I run 19" Holeshots on the rear and 21" Holeshots on the front of my 400ex.It seems to be a pretty good comprimise for all sorts of riding.

You will lose ground clearance with the 18's (approx 1 inch). You will also lose some top speed, but gain low end . I personally would stay with the 20's for trail riding because ground clearance is a must where I ride!
