Well after 1 year my roller is fianlly done and i have been promising pic's for quite some time now so here we go.

This 86 frame was found outside Spokane WA sitting in a field. The owner had torn it down four years prior with intentions of doing a rebuild and lost interest. The frame was in very rough shape,3 out of 4 broken front motor mounts, one broken rear motor mount and a almost seperation above the left foot peg.

After spending 10HR's on it and alot of grinding and welding it was in one piece, beefed up and ready for powder.Powder went well and from there i spent alot of time hunting for parts on here, E-Bay and Craigs.
When i first started this project i really needed a hobby as i had just quit booze and had to keep myself busy.I decided to build a 1986 TRX 250r just something to putt around on as i have been out of the sport for almost 20yrs.

After looking at all the uber-hott R's on here my whole mindset shifted and i asked myself "why would you build a stock bike to putt around on?? are you crazy?" I decided to build my "dream R" and started hunting for higher end aftermarket parts. Needless to say i have a grip of stock parts so PM me if you need anything.

It became and still is a obsession!! I have become a 250R nerd and will catch myself up way to late at night reading old threads here. I am single because of "the other women" and im fine with it...HA!
Well long story kinda short heres some pics of my roller. I have custom graphic's,http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff145/pdxbigfoot/jamo_bike_art_sketch_2.jpg custom a-arm guards (reinforced with carbon fiber ), A custom red transparent snap in airbox,a CT bumper thats at powder to mount and alot of random tinkering and troubleshooting to do.

The Motor is at Arlan Lehman"s new shop LeD (pronounced leed) and is very close to final assembly. Its a 330 Pro-X originally ported for drag racing.
That power curve wont work for my style so he pulled the sleeve and is basically starting from scratch with a midrange MX style port job.
Other motor goodies include a ESR head, kicker, shifter, and a CR250 ignition (i know its almost sacrilege considering who's building my motor but thats another story). Brand new cases,Hot-Rod crank,Yukon Gears,Hinson basket and 8 plates,39MM PWK, all new bearings and seals,Custom Direct Drive clear lexan (red) see through clutch cover, That HUGE K&N filter set up and a HANDCONED "one off" pipe from Arlan....im very excited!!

Its been 20 years since i have owned a bike and worth the wait.
I will post more pic's as progress continues. I expect to ride in a month or so.
Thank you! to everyone here and all the people who have really helped out...(You know who you are) and YES i haved named her....LUCRICA
Told you im a R nerd!!!

For the awesome feedback. Its been alot of work, time and money but wil be well worth it soon.
Here's some pics of the custom airboxes.
This is a stock set up version 1.0 http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff145/pdxbigfoot/partsforsale014.jpg

After i incorperated the Suzuki LT-500R airboot and the huge K&N it changed the whole thing.
So it was back to the drawing board. I should have a 2nd prototype done in a week or so. Ater that i will send a model to my fabricator and then its a mounting project...baby steps, baby steps
Danhung11 already has 1st dibbs on the lime green airbox(havent frogot about ya bud)

The see through clutch cover comes from direct drive. They sell a lock out system but i opted not to run (not what im lookin for in a MXer) but there cover is cool as hell and i got the rest of the side cover powdered in candy red.

I know ,i know.... i hear it alot "your going to kill yourself on that thing" i even had one gentleman take one look and say the same thing as Danhung11..."that is pure evil"
I grew up on a R. Not your typical out twice a month type of deal. I grew up on Devils lake sioux Reservation (im Lakota) in North Dakota and we could ride anywhere.
I rode my R to school 16 miles away everyday via a network of trails and what was once railroad tracks that had been removed which left miles of 2-3 ft whoops. It was pure heaven. So i know the bike very well.
That was a long time ago but all will be fine.

More updates the farther i get on her.
Thanx again and i wouldnt have been inspired without this forum

and then I'm looking at the pics and wondering "WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN DOING FOR THE LAST YEAR! This is all you have to show for it!?!? For shame....

Seriously though, looks real good. I can appreciate the time you spent making custom parts for it, just the time it takes to think that stuff up along with building it in a way that's functional and still keeps it looking trick all at the same time. Very cool.

I will say I'm not a big fan of the Honda car emblems/logos though, but that's just me. Overall, I'd have to say this is one of the most creative/impressive builds I've ever seen. Good job. I couldn't think of a better comeback after 20 years....

I take it you've never built a 250R from Scratch and on a budget? I'm going on a year and a half for my build and a full year for just my frame to be built.

This stuff takes time, especially finding parts.

I'll give props to Jason as it looks great; much more original and bling than mine.

My only comment on these types of builds is that it's almost a waste because unlike custom cars that are easy to keep looking mint, these are offroad vehicles and no matter how nice it looks when you build it, after a couple years of really riding it (not babying it) it'll look weathered.

Keep us posted with the motor and especially the pipe.

250Renvy, I do realize how long builds from scratch really take....;)
