I ordered a set of these and the top spring is completely compressed with no one on the quad and also the top spring does not slide over the retainer on the preload adjustment. It doesn't seem right to me. Appreciate any input.

In the instructions it says to turn the preload adjuster upside down.

Yes I seen that after. But what is supposed to keep the spring from rubbing on the threads then?
