i'm currently restoring an old 84 and need to rebuild the front forks. does anyone have any tips or tricks that you could share? i havent the slightest idea as to what direction i need to head with this.

I'll give you a tip that factory honda used. They used 85/86 atc350x for bottom tubes(for the leading axle and better brake) and the rest was 83/84 atc250r parts. This raked out the front end some for better high speed stabilty. I have a 83/84 250r front end w/ 350x tripples on my 86 atc200x, awesome turning, but the high speed stabilty sucks and that single piston caliper sucks too. I'm told, doing this makes a huge improvement on the bike.

Interesting info but I don't really see how this helps him rebuild the forks he has?
