Depends on the color, some colors require a base color. essentially you powder coat it twice. I did A-arms, swingarm, beadlocks and some other parts with a transloucent red over metalic silver for $200. Than included all prep, sandblasting etc.. A single solid color would of been about $120

Just an idea, if you do the frame you might as well gusset it first. Gusset kits are like 60-70 bucks and if you have the bike striped that far its worth it to get it done.

Dude a gusset kit is where u weld metal support to the weaker parts of ur frame so there is less chanse of you breaking the frame. And powder coating prices all depend on the color you choose i powder coat for a living there is quite a few steps you have to go threw the prep the part and spray it and depending on how many coats it takes depends on how many times it needs to be baked.

Well if you go just a plan jane color like that with no iradesents or matallics a fram would cost around $200 now as for everything else like i said it all depends on the color

Piche

u can pcoat most of the motor if it was tore down but u can pain the motor with a high heat paint i have seen that and it looks good or u can polish it that looks really awesum but very time consuming

speedfoxracing

yea i know i just dont want 2 take down the whole motor 2 do that i,ll prob paint it and wipe off the paint on the fins 2 give it that nice look and i,ve heard when u paint motors black its sopose 2 dispose of heat better idk i have a while before i planing on doin all of this then lol

I saw that you said you powder coated 3 bikes. I am planning on doing this but had one question, what did you cure the frame in. I plan on doing the redneck residential range in the garage, but I don't think the frame will fit. What was your solution.

Yea i also want to powdercoat the frame, sub frame, steering stem, and a arms, Im not that concerned with the price but how much work is it to get it tore down to just the frame? I plan on doing that part my self. Also is there any bushings or anything that i will need to replace after i tear it down?

The cooking process is hard on bearings and seals. I removed my swingarm and A-arn bearings. The other problem is if you don't remove them the grease can ooze out and ruin the PC when its in the oven. Other than that it was pretty easy. Just disasemble the bike and lable your parts bags! When its done you may have to clean out some PC from the bolt holes with a tap set.

Thanks sounds easy enough, i will just spray some break parts cleaner on anything that has grease before

I paid 305 for nerf bars (black) and frame/subframe orange w/ metal flake. My buddy sand blasted it for free.

TOOK 2 HRS TO STRIP AND 4 DAYS TO POLISH AND PAINT MOST OTHER PARTS SO FAR

PAINTED STOCK SWINGARM GLOSS BLACK, A ARMS RED,

AND MOSTLY EVERYTHING ELSE POLISHED BY HAND.

I think most powder coat places include the sand blast which should take care of most grease spots

Just curious, Did you gusset the frame yet?

i have been looking into the gusset thing also, is it a big help also how much does the kit go for and how much would it be to get it welded?

I GUESS ITS HOW HARD YOU RIDE, I GUESS IT WILL STRENTHEN AREAS
I DONT KNOW IF YOU CAN BUY A KIT,ILL MAKE MINE FROM STEEL AND WELD MYSELF SO CANT HELP THERE SORRY.

i've heard that gusset kits can also be bad, heres why. I'm not the one making this up or anything just from what i have read and heard. The frame is suppose to flex, when you make it solid so it will not flex or break in 1 area it will crack in other areas. It makes sense but gusseting the weak spots i think you would have to really beat your quad to break the strong spots. How much weight does a gusset kit add anyways?

they sell a gusset kit on ebay for like 67 bucks but what foxhoundrider says make sense i dont think im going to do it.
