Hey,
Whats the best kind of chain to get? I have an RK Gold X-ring chain laying around in my garage, are they any good? I heard that x-rings arent that good. Whats the big difference between x-rings and o-rings chains? I heard that i can lose power with this x-ring chain...Can i? lol what would be the best chain to get?

thanks.

idk bout the x-ring but i know the o-rings take a little power but its only cause of the friction from the chain but i know o-ring chains usually last the longest

X-rings take less power than O-rings.

I run a DID 520 gold series o ring for XC because of the dreaded mud.

O-rings hold inth e dirt mud moisture...

heres what i told the last dude about chains

you know that O-rings hold in dirt an moisture right?

ive talked to GNCC pros and most say that X-Ring chains are the way to go. They strech for the 1st or 2nd ride and then after that they are good for al ong time. They never get bound up. Ive seen oring chains that get stiff from dirt..and the rollers usually dont move much becasue of the dirt stuck behind them,..the Orings seal in dirt. Theyre not that tough. you get into some sand and the oil holds it to the chain whats going to win the o ring or the sand its rubbing against?

when your chain is shi**y and gets bound up you can loose almost 10% of power!!! and on a bike that only makes around32 horse lossin 3.2 horse is def a hit to the manjunk. Its been proven on a dyno too. I forget where i found it tho.

After i switched to an X-ring chain i noticed my chain never really got stiff at all and all the little rollersmoved even when i went through mud/coaldirt.

Switch to an X-Ring. you wont be disappointed. And as far as ebay i wouldnt buy a chain off there. id rather pay 20 bucks more and not worry about costly case repairs.

if you do a search on the internet you can probably find somehwere that will give you a picture by picture on how to do it.. if you look closely there should be a linkn on there that looks different than all the others its called a master link. it has a clip on it once you get that off ts pretty easy.
