I was wondering if anyone on here has been to the Marianville national forest trails in Marianville PA. I think we are going there this weekend and was wondering how they are.

My favorite place to ride. We take 3 or 4 trips there to ride every year. I have GPS maps for a Garmin if you can use them. Here's some pics........enjoy

Most of these were taken on the Bike trail. Here's a link to their web site and the map of the trail system.

I have the map for the trail and on it they say that the bike trail takes 6 hours for an expierienced atv rider. I have ridden the rocky gap trail and the one loop is rated difficult but it is pretty easy. how would you rate the bike trail in MAr PA?

Not difficult, just rough toward the last 5 miles or so. You'll wish you had a Grizzly at the end. Lots of rocks, piled. Good place for a 13 tooth.

6 hours........with many, many breaks. More like 4 or 5 steady riding. Experienced rider is a bit of an over statement. I would say you wouldn't take your kids but I would consider my wife. It does wear you out.

At the point Owls nest road crosses the atv trail. Right on the A loop just before the D loop.

The bike trail only took us 2 hours and 15 minutes and the atv trail took us 45 minutes. I just went up for the day cause the weather was supposed to be bad so we didn't go for the whole weekend. I saw that rock you posted a picture of where you buddys quad is parked under it. The trails were not to rocky except for miles 17-19. We parked at the 521 trail head, there are some camping spots there.

Now that I think of it we were camped about as far from the bike trail as you can get. So adding the 2.5 hour for the Bike trail, 45minutes on the ATV trail and 30minutes x 2 on the timberline. We were gone for awhile.

I'm not partial for camping at the trail heads. Once we found out how to get to the better spots we stay away from the trail heads. Did you get down to the Timberline trails? I love that little hill climb with the drop offs right you enter it from the pigs ear area. We alway take that pinned all the way to the top.

No i didn't get to the timberline trails beacause i thought they would be boring. It says that it utilizes old railroad beds and i hate doing those. i like the rocks and hills in the bike trails. That trail is a combination of rocky gap and willow creek. GOOD TRAIL

Honestly I didn't realize the Timberline trail was old rail beds. In someways I like them better than the ATV trail. There is more dirt road style riding in the Timberline which I'm not as fond of but there is still plenty of good woods. There are quite a few spots that have some decent jumps. I wouldn't avoid it. Next time your there take a spin. Careful of the area were you exit the ATV trail at Pigs ear. I got nabbed for speedin there by a ranger. That also seems to be a spot they like look at registrations. I came out of the ATV trail behind a slow group and was a bit frustraited. I had it it pinned coming up the road and he was sitting there shooting Radar. Most of the Ranger I talk to are decent. This peticular one seemed to have a bit of a chip. Guess he wasn't too bad. I only got a warning out of it.

Right were the ATV trail exits into pigs ear is paved. You go across a bridge and back into the ATV trail or straight onto Timberline.
Right there.

Can't agree more. I actually pray for some rain when we go. It can get nasty.
