i was either thinking of a 440 kit through lrd or a 416 i trail ride a lot and i want more power and i dont know which is better but i also do some dune riding i was thinking a 440 would get prettty hot on the trails im always looken into reliablity oviously the 416 is going to be more reliable nut is the 440 up there with the 416 ? as far as reliability goes ?

im pretty sure the 440 is more of a torque bore, and 416 is more bottom end and faster revving, other than that i ahvent heard of many reliabilty problems with either besides overheating, an oil cooler or bigger oil tank will do ya fine

my 416 is great, with trail riding i would get a all around or stage 1 cam over the stage 2. i like to rev though so thats why i went with the stage 2. a 440 set up properlu is just as much a revver as a 416. it all depends on how you build it. the 416 is cheaper though. if your not a serious racer and just a weekend warrior a 416 should do you fine. if you weight alot or want even more power than do a 440 built right

i do wiegh a lot so thats why im leaning more towards a 440 then a 416 cause im like 240 lbs and the stock 400 isnt enough

my bud is 220 and he ride a 400 with piston and cam. stock bore. he does very well with that. cant wait to see how my 416 goes against him. i weight 190 with gear.
