some specs please

honda300EXtreme
06-22-2008, 06:59 PM
thanks for the compliments guys, much appreciated

as far as specs go

its a 97' 300ex with a FST 330 kit,11:1 compression, +1mm valves and a XC port and polish, and HD valve springs, all done by c&d racing, it has a 400ex carb with choke removed, unfilter and vented airbox, hmf muffler and white brothers header, gdh oil cooler,

body and suspension wise it has
450r swing arm and magnum carrier, g-force axle, renthal chain 250r rear shock and linkage, up front it has burgard +1 400ex a-arms and works tripple rates with remote rezzys ( already planing on something better) it has a lonestar anti-vib stem and renthal bars, and a denton steering stabalizer,

that covers the major things

i still need a cam, most likely stage 3 web cam, some more suspension work

thanks for the feedback guys, i really do appreciate the kind words

the fenders are maier customs, i ordered them from a local dealer you can get them straight from maier

it also has a maier hood, it was a pain in the *** to get it the way i wanted but in the end it was worth it

um, i think i paid 419 for the fenders and like 30 for the hood, if your considering these fenders then go for it they hold up great

very nice, wish mine looked like that, you have probably been asked this a million times, what kind of heelguards are those and what quad are they for, if they are different and what did you do to make them fit? thanks and again, very nice!!

thanks for the compliments,

those are 400ex IMS heel guards, they bolted up fairly easy,
on one side, i had to make a bracket to relocate the mounting point of the top mount of the heel guard down a little bit,

but it was a really easy install

thanks, I probably will make my own eventually, I was just wondering because I have never seen healguards for the 300

thanks alot guys
listen to my string of good luck,

cam tensioner went,
cam chain snapped,
destroyed a slide/

not major but enough to get me good and pissed
im just happy it didn't shoot a valve through the piston, other wise she would of been torn down and sold

so again some more down time

:grr:

:p keep the good words comming i need them

hey thats a sick quad and how were the works shocks i could get a set of dual rates with the rez for 225 think i should
thanks

I'm running Works AT-Steelers dual rate w/ res & preload adj up front.

They are a 1000x better than stock. They aren't on the Axis/PeP level but they work great especially w/ a proper revalve.

do u know if they give u any more travel??

bwamos
07-10-2008, 08:30 AM
Yea you get about an extra inch +/- of travel assuming you're using a standard length to replace the stockers.

You get a little bit more downward movement when fully extended.

I asked because many folks use either custom length shocks or 400ex/450r length shocks w/ 400ex/250r a-arms or LT 300ex a-arms.

Honda300EXtremes ATV does not have standard length 300ex shocks (His are longer). I am running standard length Works shocks.

I was simply commenting on my experience that the standard length 300ex shocks have about 1" of additional downtravel vs. the stock 300ex shocks.

300exrider490-

I would get those shocks, they will perform alot better then stock and after a full rebuild they can be built to compete with some of the top of the line shocks,

the works i had were nice, they were very plush, the z400 shocks were just more to my liking for my current set-up
