Ive got an '02 400ex, im planning on racing motocross this season. Im thinking about mods i could add to the engine for more power. I was thinking about an Ims 440 kit, whitebros cam, new clutch, and jet kit. Im open for suggestions.

Thnx.

heres a very helpful tip. buy extended a arms and axle and get good suspension and race tires before any motor mods. you want to be able to ride your quads power to its full potential before you add to much power and you cant handle it! trust me and anyone else who knows what im talkin about you will be faster if do this!!!!!

i agree with ntpracing. Just get your quad so u can use all the stock power first.

I agree with those guys. Get you suspension set up first. You will be alot faster with a good pair of shocks.

Yeah always work on chassie before the engine. In mx if you compare a banshee to a 400ex. With the same rider the 400ex would most likley beat the banshee around the track, with the 400ex having a better handling and suspion ect. worry about motor mods later. If you have the money get a good pair of shocks. I perfer Elka. Wider a-arms and axle. Im not sure what sizes. And get a 1 inch ext swingarm. That will be alot more competitive then having your hole motor sooped up!

when you do want to go with engine mods, go with LRD the know how to gety the most power out of your bike. there exhaust also is good. i used to have the wb e-series, the lrd pipe is a huge difference the gears last a lot longer, more mid ranger, and it also made a difference on the mx track. if you do get the pipe go with the ceramic. it coast a little bit more but it is worth it.

I agree , work on your suspension before your motor . I had to race one time with a spare stock motor and was just about as fast as i was on my 440 . you just learn to adjust

Like they said, the frist thing that I would buy is SHOCKS. Its the one mod that will give you the biggest advantage.....
