i was wondering if you can just use silicon as a head gasket? my 400ex is striped right down as we speek and i was re-doing a rocker alen screw o-ring but noticed the head gasket was also leaking oil and for now can i just put silicon?

No. Silicon will only work on the base gasket. The compression from the motor would blow it out.

ok.. well do you no if i can undoo one rocker screw at a time and replace the o rings without pulling the head gasket?

are you talking about the valve cover gasket because you dont ahve to remove the head to replace those rings, just the valve cover.

Personally I wouldnt, but you can reuse the old one if its not bent up. You can buy some spray called copper coat from any automotive place and it will be like new.

if u need a gasket right now u can use liquid gasket. Id still order a head gasket though.

The thin metal gasket for the rocker cover is re-useable. Putting a thin layer of RTV on it shouldn't hurt anything, but it really shouldn't leak if all of the surfaces are clean and the bolts are torqued properly. If in doubt, a little RTV will give you some extra leak insurance.
