Ok, All these track pics are making me wanna ride. Unfortunately my quads in the shop, so I guess I'll just go do the next best thing - build some new jumps !!!

....I'll take my camera and have something new to shoot when I'm done. Check back later - I'm thinking of extending the ski jump?????

Dan you read my mind. I miss the old ski jump. The ski jump is on the Pro track so make it bigger and harder ;)

85ft with and extended landing sounds fun to me

track looks great. best place ive ever riden. i need to get out there again soon.

and i also vote to extend the ski jump. maybe take that little speed bump thing after the turn out, cause that thing always screws me up. and right now you can pretty much coast over the ski jump and easily clear it. you should keep it the way it is, being a step up, maybe just extend it a little, make it so you can hit 90-100:D

Quad's in the shop? Man I figure you gotta be loaded and have a ton of machines. I'm friends with the owner of a track around here and 20 dollars to ride, place is always filled to the limit. I've done the math before just adding up the cars in the parking lot, not taking in account for the fact most trailers had more than one machine. It was insane how much it was for one days worth. That has to be a dream job right there. Owner/Operator of a track.

We quad riders must all think alike. After posting the pics yesterday I went out to find something to work on witht the tracks. I ended up extending the down hill ski jump to 85 feet peak to peak. From the take off to the bottom of the landing ramp is 125 Feet. - don't overshoot it ! It looks really big. I added the additional 35' to the take off side of the jump and cut the kicker jump out before it.

dan harris
06-18-2008, 05:33 AM
I didn't completely finish the jump yesterday, but It will be done today. Here are some pics of what it looks like so far.

dan harris
06-18-2008, 05:37 AM
The old takeoff ramp was where the Finish line sign is on the jump. Its now 35 feet longer. That should make it a little more challenging on the 250 flyboy.

I took out the kicker and dug out a good bit of that hill before the jump.

dan harris
06-18-2008, 05:41 AM
This is the view coming at the jump from up top of the hill. Looking at the jump from the ground it looks huge. Looking at it from the top of the hill sitting in the dozer it doesn't look bad at all. Can't wait to hit it. I'll have more and better pics tonight.

To be honest the cabins are already at a discounted price. You can stay 3 days and two nights in the cabin and ride all three days for a total charge of $120 for the weekend. Last time I checked it was $65 per day just to ride at Rausch Creek.

The big cabin is available not this weekend but Next ( the weekend of the 27th.) Anyone wanting to book it for that weekend I will do it for $100 per person with a 6 person minimum. Email me right away before it rents. breezewoodprovinggrounds@yahoo.com

No doubt I have a dream job! No complaints whatsoever!!!

.....Though I'm a long way from being "loaded" I do have a very nice quad. But only one. Right now all the money goes back into the park. You'll never be able to imagine how much it cost to run such an operation. Mortgages, insurances, repairs, fuel, maintenance, payroll, advertising, materials, engineers and lawyers - the list goes on and on. Again I'm not complaining, I have a dream job and love everyminute of it. I just want the riders to understand that it takes major dollars to provide a legal place for people to enjoy the sport and that I'm doing what I can to make it affordable for you.

I really appreciate all the help I get from our riders, both physical labor and all the word of mouth advertising. I look forward to making this park better and better.

I'll post Finished pics of the ski jump later tonight when its done.

what about....

knocking the step up triple on the big tracks landing down a little? i saw a couple people case that and crash cause the back end kicked up.

making the connector landing a little nicer so its not so much of a double for us that are too scared.

making the jump by the bleachers on the big track a little bigger. its always nice to air it out right by the spectators (kinda like the triple by the bleachers on the intermediate track)

just some suggestions...

Dont make anything smaller on the Pro Track, its the Pro track. If you can't do some of the jumps on the Pro just roll them, go around or go on the intermediate! The solution to casing the downhill is, don't case it ;)

The connecter is the best jump at breezewood, don't evvvver change that dan! Thats the funnest jump iv'e ever hit.

Jherbie - I dont mind if you follow me over the downhill, but i won't be up this weekend, ill be there the fourth of july fo sho!

jesseweaver- Well our gears are different but i hit the downhill in 4th and shift to 5th in the air, sometimes i dont and just go from fourth to fifth down the straight. then downshift right before the corner and hit the connector, dont seat bump it, will send your front down quicker than you can react.

If your talking about the uphill triple, i hit that in 3rd pinned. thats a scary jump so dont do it unless your confident.

Landon, your lucky, i want to come so bad lol.

Sounds like were gonna have a good weekend. Josh looking forward to seeing ya, congradulations on the new baby.

The uphill tripple is a tough jump, the lander used to be a little shorter but then it was a flat landing with no lip - it was kind of a hard landing. Building up the lander did make it a bit harder to clear. I've tried to build the take off up to make it easier but haven't had much luck. (there is a way around the jump).

The connector is not going to change - its an awesome jump - with big air and a smooth landing. We have a way around that jump also.

The lander on the new ski jump will probally change some over the next few weeks. I'd like to build it up some so its more of a step up and people not clearing it won't have such a hard landing. It takes alot of dirt - it took around 30 dump truck loads to extend the jump the way I did.

dan harris
06-19-2008, 05:55 AM
This is where the kicker used to be. I took it out and then cut the hill down about 4 feet to get dirt for the jump. I'll be adding some good dirt to the kill to cover the rocks sometime today.

dan harris

Hopefully everyone enjoys the jump and the changes I've made this spring. Unfortunately I won't be riding this weekend. My 450 is apart with a bad crank and scuffed cylinder. It will definately be done by the 4th. Until then I'm gonna keep building new jumps. I can't wait to bust the new ski jump!!!!

I've got a Breezewood Shirt for the first person to clear the Ski Jump!!!!

Jessee, I'll take a look at the bleacher jump on the big track and see what I can do to make it more of a "show" jump for the spectators.

On the intermediate track, after the connecter that little double or whatever, Maybe you should mess around with that. None of my friends like it because they can't clear it, and the landing gets rutted out alot. I really don't have a problem with it but they told me to see if you can change anything on it.

And the only problem i have is on the Flag jump, no matter where i land on the flag jump it feels like im landing flat, even though i'm not. Maybe after the fourth of july, don't take all of the dirt away that you use for the freestyle and make the landing steeper.

06-19-2008, 05:23 PM

Not to be sarcastic but if Dan listens to everyone and turns every jump into an A class rider jump, he will need to rename the place Rausch Creek II and start charging $65 a day because he won't have many customers...

If you aren't challenged by some of the smaller jumps then hit the big connector, the flag jump, the uphill triple, the double after the flag jump, and the ski jump.

We have 110' jump down here at NCMP that I've only ever seen one rider hit...and it was on a bike.

You really have to think about the kids coming off the beginner track. They need something to hit that isn't huge. If your bored with the rhythm track then it is time to nut up and go big on the dining hall track...lord knows there are some big jumps there.

but dans the man, the rhythym track is perfect. kids come off the kid track and can hit the rhythym track. you wont get bored on that track too quick. a lot of the stuff is easy tables but theres some stuff i still get nervous hitting. theres some big jumps on that track. bleacher triple, the double on the option line to the table-table-step up. theres a lot of option lines so they can work their way up to that big stuff. i still enjoy riding the itermediate track. once they get comfortable and can hit everything on that track, then the big track isnt a whole lot harder. it all works out perfect.

dan, what do you have in store for the bleacher jump on the big track? is there still gonna be an option line?

one more thing, you should make some sort of line or marking or something at 100' on the new ski jmp

wvspeedfreak

Don't make anything too gigantic on the intermediate track. There are still a couple jumps I haven't tried to clear yet :p My confidence level is getting higher every time I come up though :)

That is my thoughts exactly. My son is just now starting to ride that track and it is a great step from the kids/beginner track. He and I both have a blast on that track.Dan has done a great job of building tracks for all different skill levels.

Lots of cool ideas and suggestions, especially the one about marking the 100 foot mark on the ski jump. Not sure that the jump in front of the bleachers will change - with it being in a turn its hard to make it much different then it is.

On the intermediate track after the connector, I always liked that flat low double, but I'll see what I can do to make it easier for some that aren't doing it. I want to keep that track at a level that people can start out on that track and build confidence and not be scared to death. At the same time its nice to have some big option lines that make it a good second track for the more advanced riders.

On the advanced track I have been building up the bigger jumps and gearing them more towards the advanced riders that have been coming here and are confident on the tracks. At the same time I want option lines on this track that will allow the lower level riders the opportunity to also ride this track. Glad to hear that it seems to be working out.

My next change will be an option line around the ski jump, maybe two down hill table tops back to back - maybe even three????

The changes so far are awesome. I wouldn't make things "perfect" though.. in my opinion, I love having things that are hard to hit perfect or things like the bump that was after the turn before the ski jump. I like things that are more challenging like that, with practice they all help to make you a better rider and teach you how to overcome more obsticals. If you go to a race and don't like a little kicker bump right in the middle of a straightaway, well tuff luck. But if you have practice on things like that, you will be good on it, and you may even like it. A challenge is always fun. That is another thing I love about BPG, option lines. Dan takes into consideration all skill levels of people riding the tracks. He makes more easy, but still real fun, option lines beside some of the bigger jumps.

I can't wait for Sunday though, Dan! Should be an awesomee time and good weather conditions! :macho

option line around the downhill would be sick!
Making them close would be sweet, taking more skill to time them correctly and land each one perfect.

was out there today, only two quads hit the downhill, a white ltr and a red 450r. I wasnt on either! they definitely were hauling the mail coming down to the ramp. not for the faint of heart anymore. actually the intermediate track was the place to be today, for whatever reason it was the popular track, and at times their wasnt a soul on the big track. Kinda crazy people begged for these changes, dan changes them, and then everyone rides a different track. tracks were in great shape, and a blast like always.

Hey guys-

Dan the track changes look and sound good. Can't wait to air out that downhill.

As for the option line on the uphill triple-ya gotta be careful when you merge with the guys hittin the triple. But if it works out-you get the inside line and can get to the corner quick. Right Nick? Haha

Anyway-I'll be there for the long 4th of July weekend as well and looking forward to seeing everyone.

Dan -I can make up some stakes for the jumps and go out and measure and mark their length when I get there this time. Flyboy and I went out and measured a bunch of them last year and it would be cool to know how long the jumps are.

Stay well everyone !

See ya all soon !

Kinda crazy people begged for these changes, dan changes them, and then everyone rides a different track. tracks were in great shape, and a blast like always.

ATVrider member jherbie28 was on the white ltr. I missed the red 450r hitting it. The jump is super smooth but is very intimidating coming at it from the downhill takeoff. I was messing around with it at the end of the day coming up short from 8' to 4'. My suspension soaked up the landing just fine. I was planning to have Josh ^ pace me on Sunday but it rained hard Saturday night so I didn't ride much Sunday morning before leaving.

Well we made it up today. That was the first that I was there in a while. Had a blast! I rode all day until I had mechanical issues, which was right before it started raining, so I was done for the day at about 3. Sorry I never got to talk to you today Jon. It was nice seeing Josh again, too. Dan has the whole park in its best shape ever. Some people really do not realize how much time, money, and effort him and Amanda put in to making it the best place to ride. I got to hit the new downhill also today, it's awesome! We'll be back on the 4th, can't wait!

as gay as this sounds the grass really makes the place look nice. i was looking at some old pictures and then looking at the new ones to see all the changes and the grass stuck out. if everyone stays off of it i think a new track is in the works................. see you this weekend dan

Thanks to everyone who came out this weekend to check out the changes first hand. The ski jump seems to be a hit, I can't wait to ride it myself, I hear its super smooth. From a spectators point of view it needs to send you HIGHER. I won't change it though until I have a chance to ride it and see for myself how it is.

I will be putting in an option line around it this week. Probally 3 table tops. They won't be too big because the water truck has to be able to drive over them.

Rich the tape measure and stakes sound good to me. I thought the ski jump was 80' peak to peak but its actually only 65 feet.

Jason, your right the green grass growing everywhere does make the tracks stand out and the whole park look more well kept. Before the DEP (department of environmental protection) will let me expand they want to see everywhere that we don't ride to be covered in grass or stone. - thanks for doing your part and staying off the new grass.

There are plenty of jumps on that track that send you HIGHER. Let the RIDERS have this one.
Just my opinion, Dan. The older I get, and more times I get hurt too, the less I like going high!

make a table to table section...like 2 20 ft tables with 15 ft inbetween so slower riders could just table table or the pros could just double them.

dan wow what a killer weekend man, made it up for the first time since MARCH:eek2: and about 1/4 way through the first day i was hitting everything like i was there the weekend before. the place is in the best shape i have ever seen it, the grass makes the biggest difference:D

first time up with the new family and went great. good seeing barry, jon, landon, and friends. outacontrol does your ltr have blue plastic? big jon was rippin it up out there but that honda didnt want any of that ski jump:devil: just kidding man i know youll have it by the time i get back up there.

for those of you that have never been to the proving grounds please be aware that dan makes extreme changes to these tracks, you need to roll everything the first lap or so. i saw a guy who had been to the park but never rode there before not even make a half of a lap and gunned it over the connector before $h!ting him self while slaming into the face of the landing ramp where he proceeded to slam his head into his handle bars bending them completly down on one side then rolling with the quad down the side of the jump.
:ermm:

the kid was ok but this is a perfect example, also when the water truck is on the track GET OFF.

other then that awsome weekend cant wait for the next trip. thanks again dan and amanda for all you do for us.

Good seeing you again Josh. Glad your new baby boy, Zachary, isn't ending your riding career. :D You didn't seem to miss a beat being away for so long. Actually, I've noticed a little break helps out sometimes.

I am actually enjoying getting faster and being able to do more full speed laps. My new favorite section on this track is from the time I crest the lander of the ski jump then bypassing the connector at full speed (well, my full speed anyhow :D), taking the inside line on the sweeper, and then hitting the small stepdown triple. Hitting the ski jump again would be great although I do like landing the ski jump really short so I can just jump down the lander.

Overall, I've always liked the rhythm track most. I've noticed it increasing in popularity over the last 2 summers. I've even noticed more people are sitting in the bleachers on this track than the big track. It is either because there are more B, C, and weekend warriors using this track now or that it has the big air triple right at the bleachers. When I first started riding at BPG, most people hung out at the big track. I still liked the rhythm track better back then but now with all the improvements to it over the past 2 years, it is more fun than ever.

You can definitely tell all the work Dan and Amanda have been putting into everything. The fencing and the grass are really starting to make the place like a country club...and the new siding on the dining hall and one of the cabins. I guess by the time I am ready to retire from riding Dan will be able to turn BPG into a nice golf course with a few ponds.

......What about the Flag Jump??? Can I build it up some for the freestyle contest or should I leave it the same. I was hoping to build up the landing ramp about 5 feet taller and 5 feet farther. Maybe even peak up the take off a little bit. Not sure if anybody noticed but I built up the small table top next to the flag jump.

Anybody have pics of someone jumping the ski jump?

I noticed the change to that small tabletop. I meant to tell you. I broke the cardinal rule of not rolling all the jumps. I flew off this jump and landed flat about 8' past the lander.

I have to say I was disappointed. Everyone talked about it but only saw 1 of the 2 people that were hitting it when I was there. I think this jump will end up like the double after the flag jump. For the first month, very few will hit it. Once you watch more and more people hit it then you decide to do it too.

I try to be really cautious...I know I am just one bad accident from having my mx quad taken from me. :eek2:

Not 100% sure yet. Connie works on the 4th but is off all weekend. If we come up, it will be for the 5th, 6th, 7th, and maybe the 8th. That would only work out though if Dan agreed to head to Rock Run on Monday and I can get some things squared away at work. This working is really getting in the way of my life.

neither are bad, the ski jump is a very smooth fast jump. the connector is a jump that sends you up very high and you just kind of fall out of the sky:p the big double is fun, i hit it 3rd and just braap off the lip. i think these 3 jumps are just intimidating because 2 of them are down hill and the connector is a big double/step up. once you get the hang of them they are a blast, you have to remember ive been riding this track for a while now so its not to say if i went to another track i could just go out and hit everything the first couple laps:ermm: i do feel pretty good though, seeing that i havent been to breezewood or rode since MARCH:mad:

the option line to the 3 tables? no. i didnt ride that track much, a little at first to warm up maybe like 3 or 4 laps then went to the big track cause i needed to get used to it and get some practice in for the races. i did ride it a few more laps after they closed the dining hall track in the evening, but i still didnt do it.

This one intimidated me too for 2 years before I finally hit it. It really isn't as hard as it looks, 3rd gear full throttle from the time you leave the turn till you go off the jump. I wouldn't try it on my 400ex though...it definitely wouldn't make it. My 400ex is too stock for this jump in the power department.

i might have to try that, i should be able to make it, i can easy beat stock 450s. should i wait to the end of the day to try it so if i crash i dont miss much? or else try it in the begining so i can hit it all day if its good. actually i doubt i will if its harder than the double after the flag jump.

whats hard about it, i didnt really look at it. small lander? high jump? is it smooth? if you come up a little short is it gonna get ugly?

hondaracer31
06-26-2008, 06:48 PM
You have to hit it harder. Like Jon said, 3rd gear pinned. The big double by the flag jump is 3rd with a little blip of the take off.

I think the big double is easier, but I still do both.

jherbie28
06-26-2008, 06:53 PM

....Stop worrying about rain, it never rains here. It was suppose to rain all day last Sunday - those that were here will tell you it was awesome riding up until 3:30 when it finally rained.

Tracks are draining great and in awesome shape. I just finsished the new downhill rhythm section next to the ski jump. There are 3 table tops all around 30 to 45 feet long. It looks fun, but of course I haven't tried them with my quad still in the shop. I'm hoping to get it back Saturday.

I haven't done anything to the flag jump yet. Still not sure how radical to go with it since its going to be a big weekend, I don't want someone getting hurt on it. At the same time the guys in the contest want it bigger to pull off better tricks?!??! I should of made a seperate jump in the parking lot or something. - too late now. I'm working on the Mud bog pit today and on Saturday - I've gote some sick ideas for that - should be fun. Next week I'll be working on the track for the Couch race - better get those couches ready. Big 3 or 4 foot tall trophies and a 3 month membership to the park for the winning team!!!!

The big double on the rythm is really easy. i do it with my stock ltr, its pinned all the way though, don't let off if your on a stock quad.

The one after the flag bothered me for a long time, i knew it was easy just took me a while to get the nuts to hit it for some reason. now that i hit it, i am mad for not hitting it sooner. its really easy. 3rd or 4th cruisging for me.

Actually I changed the flag jump again today. It was too much of a step up. I filled in the gap and its more of a table top again. It still has a MEAN lip on it that sends your rear wheels up over the flags. Sorry no pic tonight of the flag jump.

I do have a shot of the mud bog in progress. Its going to be wide enough to run 6 quads at a time.
