The rear upper bracket on the silencer is in a different spot.

i was looking in a side by side comparison, and both mounting positions for the can seem to be in the same place.

the 06+ version the exhuast mounts on the grab bar so if you break the grab bar the exhuast goes with it:o

i believe 06 & newer exhausts will bolt up on 05 & 04 450's but not the other way around. when wienen was riding a trx he had a 06 hst pipe on his 05's.

thats only if you rip the grab bar out of the bolt holes. the grab bar is designed to break in a certain spot so it doesnt do that. my brothers 450rs broke right on the welds after he rolled it over frontwards

We've had some 06 exhausts mounted on an 05 and now an 04. One machine did have some slight rubbing issues on the subframe, but it also had a bent subframe. On the other hand I had an 05 exhaust mounted on my 05 and had it rub on the motor cases and the carb. You can make it work, you just might have to do some tweaking and moving around to get it mounted properly.
