I think I want to get an old Honda 250 R 3-wheeler. Any particular year to buy and why??? Thanks.

Well if I were to get a 250r 3-wheeler I would go with the 86. I don't know what has changed but I think it is the latest year. If you could get a 250r quad then I would do that. You won't make it to your next birthday on a 250r 3-wheeler ;) . I know they are crazy fast though.

One of my best riding buddies (a chick) rides an atc 250r, its a bone stock '86 and they got it for $200, it runs really good too.

sometimes i have trouble keeping up with her

I would suggest getting one with a plastic tank... I think thats any of them over a 86...? You should PM Chriswaters ... he has a nice trike, he would know.

i have an 85.....the earlier years had the metal tanks......81-82,83-84.......

The forks on the 86 were swept one inch foward,and some other stuff..............

but the liquid cooled motor that is very similar to the TRX motors is what you ultimately need to look for.............

if u get a 250r 3-wheeler make sure its an 85 or 86.....they are both liqued cooled....the 82-84 were all air cooled.....and air cooled engines arnt as fast as liqued engines..

It takes alot more skill to ride a 3wheeler. You have to pay attention on a 3wheeler.

Lol Daruis..I pay attention when I ride my 400ex too!! j/k Well, I don't know about a trike now. I've been talking with friends also, and everyone seems to think I will kill myself on one!!:huh ...Btw, Chris, what type of riding do you do with yours? Another possibility, how much do you guys think a 99.9% stock/original 87' 250R FOURTRAX would be worth?? Or an 86 with new rings? Both extremely clean. Might just give up the idea of the 3 wheeler and get the TRUE 250R:D

I bought my wifes 86R for $2400.00 it was stock,,,,,,,,,but now looks like this......well not quite i changed the stickers a little yesterday......:D

I think we need to start a thread jsut so cris can load all his pics in there and we can just hgo there to see his awsoem rides
