View Full Version : Is this where the mixture screw should be?

OK, so I took my carb off looking for the D-shaped mixture screw (never took the carb out, nor have I ever done any work to it whatsoever), but I can't find it. I found this, though:

So is that the mixture screw? Maybe the PO replaced it with this flathead so it's not such a PITA to move?

That's the fuel screw alright. The 1999-2004 screws are straight slot. The 2005 and Up are a "D" headed screw.

The fuel screw and pilot jet work together to control the carbs fuel flow to operate the engine from idle to 1/8th throttle input. The incorrect pilot or fuel screw settings will effect the idle and off idle throttle response.
