would it be possible to make a 400ex liquid cooled or would you have to swap the whole engine with a 450r engine?

Sorry there is no way to make a 400ex liquid without swaping the whole motor there is no water pump and no water jacket.....ect even though it would be great to run high comp but there is just no way to do it

actually its been done. Four Stroke Tech made a liquid cooled 500ex. They put a water jacket around the cylinder and head, put on a ktm water pump, a radiator and thats about it. IT was a pretty cool looking quad.

No it was really liquid cooled. The article was in 4-wheel atv action years ago. If I can find it I will def. scan the pics and article and send it to you.

Well I cant get my scanner to work, but They did sell the liquid cool kit, but may not anymroe. They wanted $1500 for the kit which included radiator, cylinder mods, hoses, and water pump. Ill keep trying to get it to work.

thats awesome to hear someone did it. I always thought about that making it liquid cooled but you would need a new head and a bunch of other things. I wish they would still make it or Honda would make it liquid cooled because I love the way the 400EX is right now bore, stroke, everything is great but liquid cooling would be nice.

if your so worried about your machine overheating just get a bigger oil resovior and a bigger oil cooler hell you could even get a fan for the oil cooler. why is there a need for liquid cool ?
