the axle nut is just 2 seperate nuts that thread onto a shaft with splines (if that makes any sence)...it is regular threaded (some other makes are left handed thread)...loosen the skinny lock nut, then loosen the bigger main nut....slide the whole assembly torward the sprocket and pop out that locking pin that slips inside the axle nut into a groove on the axle. Viola...

Its really simple actuly. I thought it was gona be hard at first to. First Remove the wheels and Hubs. ( for the next sep you will need another person. While someone is pressing very hard on the back break use a pipe wrench to loosen the axe lock nut. Once that is loose you will see a snap ring on the axle remove that and this will alow you to remove the whole axle lock not. Remove the break caliper from the roter and simply slide the axle out of the axle carrier. It may take some hammering to get the axle out. get a block of wood and use that with a hammer its much easier to do.

I have the service manual in .PDF. I can probably e-mail you the axel removal and installation chapter if the file is not too big. It'll give you the step by step instructions with illustrations.

Or you can keep it a 1 man job and loosen the lock nut before you put it on a stand and take the wheels/tires off. Just keep the bike in gear on the ground...
