The Iatvhss has been making an annual stop at the Mineral City Speedway in Fort Dodge,IA since the series began 5 years ago.

The racers were set to to go for the second round of the 2008 series. This round the racers were spared a mudrace but the heat was going to take it's toll on many racers.

I want to give an extra special thank you to my Daughter, Taylor, for going out and taking pictures of the youth race while I was out of commission that morning. She wasn't even asked too, she just grabbed the camera and went out and did her thing.

The 50 production class had 6 entries this round. Here's Kendrick Uehlin and Caleb Gaylor battling for the holeshot.

Here comes a whole line of racers with Eily Mickelson leading the way. She's a new racer but she's bound to have skills since her Mom and Dad both race in the morning class. Angela in the women's class and Jason in the Utiltiy class.

Luke Olberding traded the lead back and fourth with Jerry Costello in the stock class but would hold out and take the victory for the day.

Dusty Kostman goes for the pass on Randall Carden trying to hunt down Muzzerelli. In the end she would take the ladies win and second overall with Kim taking the third overall position.

This round of action was called the Honkytonk. It was named for Shawn and Jennifer Hohneke who stepped up and sponsored the race. That's a real love of the sport to donate to get a race going. Shawn runs the AA class and his son Christian races the 50 production class.

John Wood has been following the series since the beginning 5 years ago. Unfortunately due to the ever increasing fuel prices John was forced to bow out after this race and face an early retirement. Now he's spending all his extra cash on air horns.
