I got mine setup for XC and it does great. GT Thunder a-arms w/ Z400 hubs in the rear. @1s up front and 20s in the back w/ PRm freestyle rear skid. Only been high center 2 or 3 times but that was at Loretta Lynns GNCC and the race had a utility class and they were making ruts everywhere

ok , so it can be a good XC quad? how reliable is it, like the YFZ'z are meannn but they are not reliable.. and what is the power comparable to in stock form (or with free mods like cut wires de baffleing)

for 40 bucks you can get the cherry bomb and take out the spark arrestor. This power will now be comparable to a yfz with 20s on the ltr. All 450's have there problems and the ltr has some transmission problems. The newer yfz's are probably as reliable as a newer ltr. Its all how you take care of it. Change oil, filter, rebuilds, ect....

never had an electrical problem, i've had water up past the top arms setting in it, have rolled over in water before also. everything seems to be water proof.

Im not scared of the EFI electrical aspect of the quad. Its the electric start. I have just seen my buddy w/ his electric start 450r have so many problems.

I've had zero problems with the e start on the ltr, it turns my 14.1 over just fine. I too have a friend with a 450r that had many starter issues. Supposedly honda redesigned the starter gear and that has fixed the issue.

Mine starts better on a cold start than any other time. I think its time for my valves to be adjusted to though.

Yup, a valve adjustment will most likely take care of that.

I'll check them tonight, my work computer won't let me see the buttons on the top of this screen, just a bunch of red x's.

I have done close to 300h of XC on my LTR's and I love it. I do alot of long distance races also, like you Baja. Our XC races are between 100 - 600 miles at a time.
