Mine did that to and I played with the fuel screw and it seemed to stop. I just turned it out a half turn and it did the charm. Are you talking about when your going down a road full throttle fifth it seems like it runs out of gas?

yea I think it just needs a little more fuel so turn the fuel screw out about 1/2 turn out

try turning on your headlights. mine did the same thing and only wide open in 5th gear. i asked a yamaha mechanic what it might be and he said to get full charge it has to use some, and if the lights are off it wont charge.

It's called a rev limiter ;) .

make sure your gas cap vent tube is not creating a vacumn.. I had one of the mod quad (POS) breather caps get gummed up and it did the same thing...

well its not the breathe tube on the cap, it doesnt feel like the rev limiter, but i will try the lights and see what that does for me... I will try anything, i messed with the fuel screw all day and nothing worked for me..

Have you checked the spark plug condition recently? Is your airfilter clean? Do you have a tether kill switch? There is a lot of thing that could make this happen. Does it cut out in any other gears? It could also be that the timing on the cams are off. Try going 5th wide open but take the air box lid off if it isnt already and see if thats helps. The first thing you should do is check the spark plug condition. If its wet then its running to rich and if its white then its to lean. If it is a tan color than its just perfect.

If you get off the road and quit running it wide open in 5th I bet the problem goes away.....

What are you doing on the road with a quad?
